Archery

In these times, it is always important to train for future battles. During the week there will be archery activities for fun and recreation and various archery competitions.

In addition to being fun, it will also prepare you for the prestigious Knäcke War battle. Are you competing for the flat side or the holey side?

Host an archery session

This year we are looking for people or shires who can hold one or two archery sessions during the week.

It can be a training session or a competition. In short, whatever you want it to be.

Please contact the archery coordinator Lady Aaliz de Cordes to get one of the suggested timeslots or add new ones to the schedule.

Activities at the archery range

  • Official competitions which counts in the Drachenwald
    • Portsmouth round
    • Royal round

Range Rules

  • Respect barriers when archery is in progress!

  • Parents are responsible for their children’s awareness of the risks/dangers and of the areas where archery activities will take place.

  • Children and Youth should have an adult supervising them while shooting, unless leave has been given by a marshal for the child / youth to shoot unsupervised.

  • Parents should check with the marshal in charge before letting their children / youth shoot.

  • The Youths that are experienced and can shoot at adult ranges (20-40 yards) can attend the regular Open Range.

  • The range is only to be used with a marshal present. If you want extra practice, ask one of the marshals.

3D Hunting Trail

New rules apply for the 3D Hunting Trail regarding bows and arrows.

  • New rule 1: Arrow heads
We have experienced a lot of extra tear damage on our 3D-animals done by the arrow head called "bulletpoint". Our animals have sadly become old and dry. They can not expand any longer when pulling this type of arrow out of the animal. Therefore this type of arrow head will not be allowed to be used.

  • New rule 2: Maximal bow strength
We have short shooting distances therefore we have chosen a limit on the bow strength to not cause more damage to our old animals.
    Period Bow: max 50-55 pounds
    Open Bow: max 46 pounds

If you have questions about activities, please reach out to the coordinators in charge. You can find their contact information on the autocrat page
