Important! This is an opportunity to be able to participate in archery during an event that is not taking place at an actual SCA-event site. But to do this we have to follow safety regulations on how to set up an archery range for it not to be dangerous to others. This means that YOU have the responsibility to set up the archery range in a safe way. If you´re not totally sure about safety - DON´T SHOOT! Instead you can cooperate with a target archery marshal near you.
Remember that you must always obey the rules and regulations in the country/area where you live. Due to the COVID situation in your area it might not be possible to do this more than a few people at a time.
Think of these rules when you set up your range:
Clear area behind the targets - no roads/areas where people and animals might dwell
Safety distance behind and on the sides at 30-45° angle of the shooting line
Try to have some kind of backstop like an archery net, hay bale, old carpet etc to stop stray arrows. A wall or a heap of sand is also ok, but might damage the arrows.
Remember that arrows can bounce, especially on "round" targets
HOLD is the magic word if anyone needs to stop the ongoing shooting
